We’re Engaged! When Should We Start Wedding Dance Lessons? 

Congratulations on your engagement!! We love working with newly engaged couples to help them choreograph their first dance. We can also help choreograph the daughter and father dance, mother and son dance, or any other special wedding day dance. There are several reasons that we suggest getting started with your wedding day dance lesson early.

Feel Comfortable with the Dance

While your wedding day is an exciting day, many couples also feel nervous. If you have not had sufficient time to practice your dance as husband and wife, performing in front of your guests may add to the nervousness of the day. By starting early, you can gain confidence in your dance abilities. By your wedding day, the dance will come so naturally that you can just have fun. Plus, if you start early, you may even have time to add in a few difficult dance moves or at least a few that look difficult.

Time for Changes

We suggest bringing a few potential songs with you for your first lesson. This allows you to pick the song and dance that best fits your style. If you start your dance lessons early enough, you'll have time to make changes to the song or some of the steps. The longer you wait to start your dance lessons, the less time you'll have to make your dance into the one that really represents you as a couple.

Practice Other Dance Moves

While your dance as husband and wife is likely at the top of your priority list, many couples enjoy practicing other dance skills, which they can then demonstrate to their guests. The sooner you start your dance lessons, the more time you'll have to perfect your other dance moves. You may even have time to have other guests, such as your maid-of-honor or your best man, join you for dance lessons. This is a great way to show your appreciation for all the hard work that they have done and all the hard work that they will do to make your wedding day wonderful.
